Ordering and Pricing
How does it work?
Three steps. Choose a wine from our Napa Valley portfolio, customize a label with names, dates, a logo, a photo or a personal message, and place your order. We print and hand apply your labels, then ship the finished bottles to you or your recipient.
How much does custom labeled wine cost?
Every wine in our portfolio is priced per bottle, and that price already includes printing and applying your label. Our range runs from premium Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon to approachable everyday wines, so there is a fit for corporate programs, weddings, and one-bottle gifts alike. Current pricing is always on the wine list.
The only extra to know about: orders of fewer than 12 bottles sharing the same label carry a $15 setup fee.
Is there a minimum order?
No. You can order a single bottle or several hundred. Larger orders and multi-recipient programs are welcome; call us and we will help you plan them.
Can I order the wine for resale?
Wine intended for resale is subject to federal and state licensing rules. You will need the appropriate licenses in place before you start, and we recommend speaking with an alcohol and beverage attorney in your market. We cannot provide legal advice on licensing.
Can I see sample labels first?
Yes. Sample labels are free; you cover only the shipping. We send an assortment from our current designs so you can see the print quality and materials in hand before you order.
Label Design, Sizes and Materials
How do I design my label?
Start from one of our label designs and personalize the text, colors and images in the online editor, or upload a finished design of your own. Both paths show you a live preview of the bottle as you work.
Can your team design a label for me?
Yes. With our full custom design service you send us a logo or image and a short description of what you want, our designers present a concept, and we refine it with your feedback before printing. Email info@www.napavalleyprivatelabelwine.com with a description of your project for a design quote.
What label sizes and shapes are available?
Our designs come in standard vertical, horizontal and square formats, plus fancy-cut shapes such as circles and regal edges. If you need specific dimensions, choose the custom size option when setting up your design and enter your measurements; there is no extra charge. See Label Information for the full list.
What materials can I choose from?
Three: glossy laminated, matte laminated and estate paper. Glossy gives the brightest color and a reflective finish, matte gives a smooth velvety look, and estate paper is a classic textured wine label stock with excellent water resistance. Details and a side-by-side comparison are on the Label Information page.
Can I print a label in another language?
In most cases, yes. The label editor supports accented and special characters. If a particular font or design does not render a character correctly, contact us and we will sort it out for you.
How good is the print quality?
Labels are printed to photographic or near-photographic quality and die-cut after printing rather than printed on pre-cut sheets, which gives clean, consistent edges and lets us cut custom shapes. Every label is applied by hand, the way many small-production Napa wineries still do it.
Artwork and Proofs
What file types do you accept?
JPG, JPEG, PNG and GIF. Use the highest resolution version of your image you have; enlarging a small image does not add detail.
What resolution do I need?
Aim for 300 dpi at print size. A quick check: zoom the image on screen to about twice the size it will print. If it still looks sharp, you are fine. Photos straight from a camera or phone are usually good; images saved from social media or web searches usually are not.
Should I add bleed?
If your artwork runs to the edge of the label, extend it 1/16 inch (0.0625 in) past the trim on every side. This keeps a thin white edge from appearing if the cut shifts slightly.
Will I get a proof?
The online editor shows you an accurate preview as you design, so we do not send a separate proof on standard orders; that would only slow things down. Our team does review every order before printing and will contact you if anything looks off. If you would like a PDF proof to approve before production, add it in your cart for $10 per label design, which includes one round of revisions.
Who owns the rights to my artwork?
You do, and by uploading it you confirm you have the right to use it. Please do not submit images you do not own or have permission to use.
Turnaround and Shipping
How long will my order take?
Standard orders typically arrive within 3 to 4 weeks of ordering. Express orders typically arrive within 2 weeks. If you need wine sooner, call 1-707-300-6520 before you order and we will tell you what is possible.
Where do you ship?
Within the United States only, to street addresses (no P.O. boxes). Not every state can receive wine shipments; the checkout will confirm whether your destination is available.
Does someone need to sign for the delivery?
Yes. Federal law requires an adult 21 or older with photo ID to sign for wine. Carriers will not leave it unattended, so a business address is often the smoothest choice. Full details are on our Shipping and Returns page.
How do I track my order?
You will receive an email with a tracking link when your order ships. You can also check status any time at Track Your Order.
How to Apply a Wine Label
If you order labels only, or are relabeling bottles of your own, start with a clean, dry bottle at room temperature with no residue on the glass.
- Peel the backing away from one corner at a tight angle so the corner of the label lifts, then peel the label off slowly.
- Lay the bottle on something that stops it rolling: your lap, a folded towel or an egg carton all work.
- Center the label, using the bottle seam as your guide.
- Touch the middle of the label down first, then smooth outward from the center with firm, even pressure.
- Leave the bottle at room temperature for 24 hours so the adhesive can cure.
How to Remove a Wine Label
Two methods work reliably with everyday household items.
Baking soda soak (full bottles)
Safe for unopened wine. You need a sink or bucket, baking soda, a rag and a towel; steel wool is optional.
- Soak the labeled part of the bottle in room-temperature water with 5 to 10 tablespoons of baking soda for 30 minutes.
- Wipe the label away with the rag. Use a fingernail or steel wool on any stubborn spots.
- Dry the bottle and let it return to room temperature before applying the new label.
Hot water (empty bottles)
You need gloves, hot water and a towel; steel wool is optional.
- Wearing gloves, fill the empty bottle with very hot water. If tap water is not hot enough and you use a kettle, warm the bottle with hot tap water first so the glass does not crack from the sudden change.
- Wait 10 minutes, then peel the label with your fingers or steel wool.
- If it resists, switch to the baking soda method above.

Accounts, Payment and Security
Do I need an account to order?
No. An account is optional, but it lets you save your address and contact details, keep your designs for reorders, and see member-only wine specials. Details are on the Membership Benefits page.
Is my payment information secure?
All orders are processed through a fully secured merchant service with encrypted payment data. You pay by the credit card of your choice at checkout, and we never store card numbers on our servers.
